DTI makes push for ‘sustainable consumerism’ in Region 3

The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Central Luzon announced it will highlight “sustainable consumerism in the digital Age” during this year’s celebration of Consumer Welfare Month.
The theme shall encourage a mindful shift in consumption, particularly when it comes to purchasing goods and services online, officials said.
In a Philippine Information Agency report, DTI Region 3 Consumer Protection Division Chief Jerry Maglalang said the celebration started with the launch of Bagwis Awards, which recognized establishments faithfully following consumer laws and supporting consumer rights.
There was also a presentation on Sustainable Consumption and Production by Plastic Credit Exchange and Everything Green.
“There will be a Regional Consumer Quiz Bee 2.0 on October 21 to be participated by secondary students,” he added.
DTI will likewise hold an E-Poster Making Contest to be participated by secondary students and a Regional Vlogging Contest to be participated by Consumer organizations on October 28.
Lastly, a Regional Spoken Poetry Contest and culminating activity will be held on October 31.
